Professor Shehu Usman Abdullahi was born on 2nd February, 1951 at Ikara, the headquarters of
Ikara Local
Government Area of Kaduna State. He attended Ikara Primary School (1958-1960) and Soba
Senior
Primary
School (1961-1963). He attended Provincial Secondary School (now Alhudahuda College), Zaria
for
his
Secondary School education (1964-68) and Government College (now Barewa College), Zaria for
his
Higher
School Certificate studies (1969-70). He obtained a Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
degree
from
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria (1971-76) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the same
field from
University of Minnesota, USA (1979-82), specializing in Veterinary Urology. He attended the
Institute
for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru-Jos (1990)where he acquired the title of Member of
the
National
Institute (mni). He also holds certificates in University Administration, Computer
Appreciation,
and
Arabic Language.
He joined the services of Ahmadu Bello University in 1977 and rose to the rank of Professor
in
1989, a
period of twelve years. He held the following positions at different times:
Abdurrahman Sambo was born on February 10, 1956 in Ikara LGA, Kaduna State. He qualified as
a Medical
Doctor in 1980, having earned an MBBS degree from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. He
earned an
MHPEd degree under the World Health Organization (WHO) fellowship from University of New
South Wales,
Sydney, Australia in 1992 and also earned a Certificate in Health Planning, Economics and
Management as
a Chevenning Scholar from Nuffield Institute for Health, University of Leeds UK in 1996. He
was admitted
into the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, 2003 and became a
Member of the
National Institute (mni).
He began his career as a House Officer and rose to the post of a Registrar of Medicine at
the Ahmadu
Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria between 1980 to 1985. He later served variously in
administrative positions at the National Universities Commission (NUC) between 1987 to 2006.
Sambo`s wealth of experience has found him in several other administrative positions
including
Honourable Commissioner for Health, Kaduna State 1997 to 1999, member to several Committees
and a
pioneer member of the Governing Council of Kaduna State University between 2003 to 2006.
He was appointed a General Manager with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in April
2006 and
was appointed its Acting Executive Secretary between March 2012 and November 2013. He
retired from the
National Health Insurance Scheme in March 2014.
He has since retirement, been engaged as Chairman, YUSAS Farms Ltd, Kaduna and Chairman
Board of
Trustees of Ikara Orphanage Charity Trust.
He is happily married and blessed with 4 children.
Abdulhamid Dahiru was born on 10th February, 1974 in Gidan Noma village, Ikara, Ikara Local
Government
Area of Kaduna state, Nigeria. He acquired his Primary School and tertiary knowledge from
1988 -
1998.
Also He moved to Bayero University, Kano, where he obtained his Diploma certificate in
Educational
Management in 2001, B.ed. Degree in Adult Education and Community Services in 2008, M.ed.
Degree
in
Adult and Non-formal Education in 2016, and PhD. In Adult and Non-formal Education (inview).
He served in both Government and private Institutions which include: He served as a
classroom
teacher
with Kaduna state primary education board under Ikara Local Government Education Authority
from
2001 –
2007. Nevertheless, within his years of service, He was posted to Kaduna state co-operative
Institute
Ikara as a Lecturer on Secom dement from 2008 - 2016.
He is now the Principal and a Proprietor of Farhan Islamic Academy Ikara. Also a Member of
Ikara
Orphanage Charity Trust and Ikara Community Progressive Association (IKACPA) respectively.
He is also a Lecturer with Federal College of Education, Zaria and a part-time Lecturer with
Institute
of Education, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Department of Adult Education and community
Development.
He is married and blessed with ten children
Alhaji Shehu Muhammad Shitu was born on 15 may, 1952 in Ikara Local Government Area, Kaduna
State of
Nigeria. He attended Ikara Central Primary School (1958 - 1962) and Soba Senior Primary
School
(1963 –
1965) for his primary education. He also attended Government Secondary School Alhudahuda
College
Zaria
(1966 - 1970) and Government Collage Kaduna (1971 - 1972) for his secondary school
education, he
obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with specialization in
marketing from
the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria between in 1976. Alhaji Shehu also obtained
Master’s
degree in Business Administration in 1999 from the same institution.
He began his career with French company, (CFAO) in 1977, where he was posted to Sokoto
branch as
the
pioneer branch manager. In the year 1979, he left CFAO and joined Nigerian Tobacco Company
(NTC). He
later worked with many companies such as, Songhai Petroleum Company, Farida Investment and
Finance
Company and Ikara Food Processing Company. In the year 1991, he was at Industrial and
Finance
Company
Ltd. (KIFC) as Assistant Investment Manager.
Alh. Shehu was a member of the Board of Directors for several companies which included
Kaduna
State
Housing Authority, Gaskiya Corporation Ltd. Zaria, Polyfibre Industries ltd., Kaduna, Zaria
Industries
Ltd. He also served as member of Revenue Generation Committee of the Kaduna State University
and
Council
of Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Kaduna.
Alh.Shehu Muhammad Shitu is married and blessed with children.
Mal Ibrahim Sambo was born on 28th February, 1960 in Ikara, Ikara LG of kaduna state to the
family of Late Alh Sambo Bambale (Malamin Asibiti).
He attended LEA primary School Ikara from 1965 to 1971, Government Secondary School Zaria
(present Alhudahuda college) 1972 to1976 and kaduna state college of Education Gidan waya,
kafanchan 1981 to 1984 where he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). He
participated in the National Youth Service Corps in 1984/85 at Science Secondary School
kuru,
Jos plateau State.
Ibrahim proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985 where he bagged a Bachelor of
Education degree ( B Ed) in 1987. He further enrolled into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,
where
he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration ( PGDPA); Master in
International
Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD) and Master degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 1995, 2000
and
2007, respectively.
He started his career as Lecturer 111 (Educational Psychology) with Kaduna State College of
Education Gidan Waya in 1988.
In 1992 he became a Lecturer 11 and was later converted to Administration cadre and rose
through
the ranks to the position of principal Assistant Registrar.
He transferred his Services to Kaduna State Civil Service in 2000.
Ibrahim held the following positions in the service of Kaduna State Government:
Sole Administrator, Soba LG Council 1998 to 1999; Ag Director, Special Services Governor's
Office 1999 to 2002; Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Ikara LG Council Sept,2002 to
January,2003;
Director, Administration and Finance, Ministry of works and Transport 2003 to 2008; Director
Cabinet , Governor's Office 2009 to 2010; Director, Administration and Supplies Ministry of
Health 2010 to 2012.
In 2012, he was appointed a Permanent secretary and served in the following Ministries;
State
Universal Basic Education Board 2012 to 2016; Ministry for LG Affairs 2016 to 2017; and
Ministry
of Rural and Community Development 2017 to 2018. He voluntarily retired as permanent
secretary
in February, 2018.
He was appointed a Permanent Commissioner, State Independent Electoral Commission
(KADSIECOM) in
February, 2018. He served the Commission from 2018 to July 2024 when he voluntarily resigned
his
appointment.
Ibrahim is a member of the National Institute for policy and Strategic studies, kuru Jos SEC
37,
2015.
He served as Chairman/Secretary/Member to more than thirty (30) important Committees and
Commissions constituted by the State. He also attended several National and International
Seminars and Conferences. He is married with five (5) children.
His hobbies include reading and farming.
Dr. Shehu Idris is a lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, Kaduna State University. He
was
born on 12th January, 1981 in Ikara; the headquarter of Ikara Local Government Area of
Kaduna
State Nigeria. He attended Magaji Abubakar Primary School (1987 – 1993) and Government
Secondary
School, Ikara (1993 – 1999) for his primary and secondary school education respectively.
Between
the year 2000 and 2001, he enrolled for 1 year remedial science programme of Bayero
University
Kano, he also attended the same institution where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree
in
Microbiology in the year 2006. Dr. Shehu participated in the one year mandatory national
service
program of NYSC at the State Ministry of Environment Calabar, Cross River State. He attended
University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) from 2013 – 2015, where he obtained his Master’s
degree
in Biotechnology. Between the year 2018 and 2023, he attended and obtained his Doctorate
degree
(Ph.D.) with specialization in Environmental Microbiology from the University of Science
Malaysia (USM).
Dr. Shehu served as the Organizing Secretary of Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN),
GSS
Ikara in 1999, he also served as the President of Muslim Science Student Association (MUSSA)
of
Bayero University Kano in 2005/2006 Session. During his NYSC program, he served as the
Chairman
of the Da’awah Committee of the Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN) Cross River
State
(2007 -2008). He was the pioneer PRO of the Ikara Student Association (IKASA). He has been
actively participating in community services. He is also a Co-founder of the Ikara
Comprehensive
Academy
Dr. Shehu started his job career in 2011 as Graduate Assistant at the Department of
Microbiology, Kaduna State University and rose to the rank of Lecturer I. He is still in the
active service of the institution, he held many positions and served in several committees
in
the university.

Aliyu Labaran was born in the year 1989 in Ikara, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna
State of
Nigeria. He attended Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Collage, Tudun wada Zaria (1997–2003) for his
Nursery
and Primary school education. He also attended the same school (2003 - 2009) for his
secondary
school education. He then proceed to Institute of education, Amadu Bello University Zaria
(2013
– 2015) where he obtained Diploma in Arabic Studies.
Mal Aliyu is among pioneer teaching staff of the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Collage Ikara where he
is
currently working. He was the first Executive Chairman of the Trust, a position which he
served
for 17 years (2008 – 2025). Presently he is a serving member of Board of Trustees of the
Trust.
Aliyu Labaran is happily married and blessed with children.
